Richly orchestrated boleros, delicate ballads and percussive boogaloo and mambo: the young singer Ileana Mercedes Cabra Joglar, better known as iLe, is making waves with her solo debut album Ilevitable. In February 2017 it earned the Grammy for Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album. iLe had already earned a number of Grammy’s and Latin Grammy’s with the popular rock/hip-hop band Calle 13, of which she became a singer at age 16. In 2012 she was praised by Bob Dylan for her performance of the anthem of her homeland Puerto Rico.
